The Salon du Livre de Montréal, an annual pilgrimage eagerly awaited by all book lovers, transcends the art of storytelling. Much more than just a literary event, it's a vibrant celebration of culture, where visitors come together to share their love of words, ideas and creativity. A true celebration of books and reading, and above all of readers and creators, it's an unforgettable experience that's renewed every year.
Three years ago, our journey with the Salon du Livre de Montréal began: a partnership that would transcend the simple concept of brand identity to become a memorable adventure. Our mission was to create an event identity that would not only reflect the excellence of this great event, but would also evolve over the years, like a captivating story.
In 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, when it was not possible to hold the show face-to-face, we tapped into the essence of imagination and the first generation of our characters was born. The minimalist design chosen was like a blank book, ready to be transformed.
In 2022, we moved towards a more colorful graphic universe, drawing our inspiration from the human and imaginary themes that have always fascinated us. Photo collages were integrated to bring a touch of authenticity and emotion, transforming the brand identity into an immersive visual experience.
For 2023, our characters have taken on a new, modern form, using digital collages to create a hypnotic, delirious atmosphere. When you stroll through the Salon du Livre this year, be prepared to be transported into a world where reality blends with imagination, where the experience transcends the boundaries of the conventional.
Our mission was clear: to create an eye-catching concept that would highlight the 2023 identity of the Salon du Livre de Montréal through a visual journey rich in color and imagination.
We drew our inspiration from the theme: the human being, a multi-faceted creator. The photographic bases represent our anchorage in earthly reality, while the inflatable tubes act as bridges to our heads, where the 3D collage plunges us into the imaginary. It's a harmonious marriage between the tangible and the limitless, a reflection of the art of reinventing ourselves as living beings on this planet.
At the heart of this universe, you'll discover captivating characters. From Madame Russian Doll, who opens like a book and seems to bloom like a flower, to Triple-Headed Man, who strolls through the city with family and friends, embodying the diversity and imagination that resides in each of us.
The color palette we've created has become our signature over the years, evoking a wealth of sensations and emotions, adding a touch of joy to the Salon du Livre de Montréal experience.
